Platte County Sheriff's Office Investigates Armed Robbery

The Platte County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery that happened at the Wood Oil Gas Station just after 5:30 Saturday evening.

(PLATTE COUNTY, Mo.) The Platte County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery that happened at the Wood Oil Gas Station located on 92 Highway just after 5:30 Saturday evening.

Authorities said two males entered the gas station, one suspect carried a silver handgun. A gas station clerk and one customer was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash.

No one was injured.

Authorities said one suspect was wearing a black South Pole Athletic hooded sweatshirt. The other suspect was wearing a dark grey hooded sweatshirt.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the suspects left the scene in a newer grey vehicle they believe was a Ford Escape.

The robbery is still under investigation.

The late spring heat continues into Monday with lots of sunshine and highs in the middle 90s. Feels like temperatures will be around 100 degrees once again. A Heat Advisory remains is in effect until 8pm Monday for the entire KQ2 viewing area. Best advice is to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, and stay out of the sun. Big changes move in for the new workweek as relief from the dry conditions & summer heat is on the way beginning into Tuesday.
