Two in Custody Following Crash on Frederick Avenue

Two people are in custody following a crash that happened on the corner of North 17 Street and Frederick Avenue Sunday afternoon.

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Two people are in custody following a crash that happened on the corner of North 17 Street and Frederick Avenue Sunday afternoon.

Police said an officer observed a grey Pontiac Grand Prix traveling west on Frederick around 1:30 p.m. and attempted to pull the vehicle over.

The Grand Prix hit another vehicle before crashing into the side of the Frederick Inn and Steakhouse.

Authorities said a male and female suspect fled the scene on foot, and officers gave chase. A short time later, officers arrested both suspects for fleeing the scene.

Police said they believe the Grand Prix was stolen.

No injuries were reported, according to authorities.

Authorities said the accident is still under investigation.
