Huffman United Methodist Church hosted the Night to Shine prom night sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation.

The foundation helps thousands of people with special needs every year through their mission of providing faith, hope and love.

On Friday, over 100 special needs individuals in St. Joseph and surrounding areas put on beautiful prom dresses and suits and were able to be queen or king of the prom for one night.

"Not all the time do people with special needs get to come to a prom like this," Madison Sapp, Night to Shine planning coordinator, said. "It's very important because a lot of times they hear the word no, so tonight we try to tell them yes. So, they get the opportunity to be named Queens and Kings of the prom."

This is Night to Shine's fourth year being put on worldwide, but the first year it's been hosted in St. Joseph.

Sapp said there's over 540 churches worldwide that belong to the Night to Shine movement.

We are waking up this morning to some patchy fog across the area once again & some clouds due to a disturbance up to our north. We'll see more sunshine for our Tuesday and into Wednesday. Temperatures will warm back up to above average with highs in the middle 80s as our winds switch up to the southeast.
