Flood Warning issued June 8 at 1:45PM CDT until June 11 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO

…The National Weather Service in Kansas City/Pleasant Hill has
issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Kansas…

Stranger Creek near Tonganoxie affecting Leavenworth County.

* WHAT…Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Stranger Creek near Tonganoxie.

* WHEN…From Tuesday afternoon to Thursday evening.

* IMPACTS…At 23.0 feet, Low-lying farmland along the creek floods.
At 25.0 feet, County Highway 6 floods about 3 miles east of
Tonganoxie.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 12:30 PM CDT Monday the stage was 7.6 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage early
tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 25.9 feet early Wednesday
morning. It will then fall below flood stage Wednesday evening.
– Flood stage is 23.0 feet.

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars
through flooded areas.
