ST. JOSEPH, Mo.

A memorial service was held for 31 year-old Stormi Harbord Saturday afternoon.

Authorities said Harbord died after her boyfriend, Terrell Smith, shot and killed her in late September.

Harbord's family and friends gathered at Evolution United Methodist Church. Guest speakers such as Carrie Turner from the YWCA were invited to speak on issues like domestic violence and addiction.

Harbord's mother Tina Graham said she wants to use her daughters story to speak out on domestic violence, and save the lives of others.

"We gotta stop the violence, it's gotta stop," Graham said. "If nothing else, I want people to know I want it to stop in rememberance of my daughter. Stormi was very strong, very strong, but, the violence has got to stop."

Another memorial service for Harbord will be held Sunday at Bartlett Park at 4 p.m.

Monday we had mostly sunny skies for much of the day across northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri until the afternoon when we saw a few clouds move into the area. We will clear out late tonight into tomorrow morning then have lots of sunshine along with hot and humid conditions.
