(DAVIESS COUNTY, Mo.) A Utah man faces charges of making a terrorist threat after he allegedly threatened to shoot deputies in Daviess County.

Brinton Bingham was arrested in Colorado after leaving his home in Utah. Bingham allegedly told officers he was on his way to Daviess County to shoot deputies.

According to the Daviess County Sheriff's Office, clerks at the Daviess County Courthouse received a phone call on Wednesday from an individual who was upset about a fine he was ordered to pay. During the conversation, the caller threatened to "shoot up the courthouse."

The Sheriff's Office said Bingham identified himself after talking to a Deputy Sheriff and, again, threatened to shoot deputies.

The courthouse was put on lockdown while deputies tracked the cell phone call.

According to court records, Bingham was ordered to pay a $150 fine after being found guilty of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia earlier this month.

A great start to the work week across northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri. A weak cold front will move through the area tonight but do not expect any rain with this and barely any clouds.
