(JEFFERSON CITY) Nine people died in traffic crashes over the Memorial Day weekend, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Troopers investigated 294 accidents during the four-day holiday.
A Bethany man died in an accident in Harrison County on Friday.
Troopers say 38-year-old Jerald McDaniel died when his motorcycle began to skid on I-35 and overturned near Bethany. McDaniel was thrown off the motorcycle and died at the scene.
There were no boating fatalities this year.
Troopers also arrested 121 people for driving while intoxicated and made 102 drug arrests.
