(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) With Christmas less than a week away, families in St. Joseph need your help.

There are still 168 families in the Adopt-A-Family program that still need to be adopted this Christmas.

The Adopt-A-Family agency is looking for adopters and donations to support families and children throughout the city as well as elderly adults living in residential care facilities.

“Without them[adopters] we don’t have a program. So we want to work with them the best way we can. Some people don’t have enough time to go out and do all that. They would rather do a monetary donation,so the family they choose can get gift cards and they can shop,” Adopt-A-Family Director Penny Adams said.

The program is asking for contributions in the form of new toys, monetary donations and personal gifts for anyone infant through adult.

The deadline to adopt a family is 1p.m. on Christmas eve. For more information on how to adopt a family or to make a donation contact Penny Adams at 816-364-1131 or by email at adopt@helpmenow.org.

Our weather pattern will become more quiet, but almost Florida-like with very warm & humid air moving in as we head into the second half of the work week and into the weekend.
