Airmen assigned to the 139th Airlift Wing, Missouri National Guard are helping with flood efforts.

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Airmen assigned to the 139th Airlift Wing, Missouri National Guard are helping with flood efforts.

According to their Facebook post, on Friday airmen are laying sandbags along the levee that protects Rosecrans Memorial Airport and surrounding communities.

The National Guard is working with local authorities to reinforce the levee.

We started off the weekend today with continued muggy and hot conditions with temperatures in the 90s. There are thunderstorms to the west headed towards us. Some of the area may see a slight chance for rain overnight. Tomorrow looks to be another day in the mid 90s with a slight chance for thunderstorms in the afternoon. There is a cold front coming our way giving us some much cooler temperatures to start off the work week. Highs will be back down in the upper 70s and lower 80s to start off next week.
