Ambulance Involved in Accident on Frederick Ave.

The driver and front passenger of the ambulance were taken to Mosaic for evaluation of minor injuries.

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) The accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. Saturday after a pickup began to pull out of the Red Lobster parking lot onto Frederick Ave.

According to police, traffic on the outside lane of Frederick stopped to let the pickup out, however, the driver pulled out in front of the ambulance that was traveling along the inside lane. 

The occupants of the ambulance complained of neck and back pain and were transported to Mosaic for evaluation. 

The driver of the pickup refused medical treatment and was ticketed for failing to yield.

One westbound lane of Frederick along with the turn lane between I-29 and Woodbine were temporarily closed.

Mostly cloudy skies across much of northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas Tuesday which resulted in cold temperatures across the area. We saw some freezing rain to the south of St. Joseph Tuesday afternoon. The warmer air will start moving back into the area as we head into Wednesday afternoon with highs in the 50s. The rain chances will start to increase as we head into your Thursday and Thursday night.
