(ATCHISON, Kan.) Authorities are searching the Missouri River in Atchison for a pick-up truck Sunday night.

MSC News in Atchison spoke with Police Chief Mike Wilson earlier this evening. The truck was spotted around 8 p.m. and about a 100 yards south of the boat ramp, Wilson said. Eyewitnesses said they did not see anyone in the vehicle before it sunk below the water's surface.

Officers arrived shortly after a truck was reported in the river, and arrived in time to confirm there was a car in the water.
