One Dead, Another Injured After Double Shooting

St. Joseph Police investigating double shooting that left one dead, another injured.

One person is dead and another is injured after a double-shooting in St. Joseph.

St. Joseph Police responded to 2317 South 18th at approximately 11:49 p.m. after receiving a call of shots fired in the area. 

When officers arrived, they located a 24-year-old white male with apparent gunshot wounds outside the residence. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel. 

Officers then identified another 22-year-old white male who had sustained an apparent gunshot wound who was rushed to the hospital to be treated for life threatening injuries, according to police. 

SJPD is investigation the incident as a homicide. As stated by police, investigators have determined that this is not a random act and a suspect has been identified. The suspect is not at large and has already been located by law enforcement.

The warmest days of the week will be Monday night into Tuesday with plenty of clouds overhead. A disturbance will move in Monday night and Tuesday that will bring the chance for some more rain and snow to the area. Right now, it appears any snow accumulation will be minor. We'll be in the upper 30s by Tuesday thanks to the southeast winds picking up. It will be gusty at times to 30 mph.
