Bearcat Baseball Claim Share Of MIAA Conference Title

Bearcat Baseball Claim Share Of MIAA Conference Title

Posted: May 6, 2018 10:32 AM

Northwest Missouri State baseball did something that hadn't happend in 35 years, and that was win a baseball conference title.

After losing game one of a final three game series 17-0 against Central Oklahoma down in Edmond, OK. Some extra help was needed to ensure that the bearcats would come home with hardware.

Not only did NWMSU need to win game two against UCO, but a lot was riding on the Central Missouri game with Northeastern State.

The chips fell where they needed too as NSU took down UCM 11-9, and in comback fashion NWMSU was down seven runs at one point and battled back to beat UCO 9-8 to become co-conference champs.

The final game of the series between NWMSU and UCO will be Sunday in Edmond, OK at 1:00.

MIAA Conference Tournament will take place May 10-13 in Warrensburg, MO at James R. Crane Stadium.

Above average temperatures are set to continue tomorrow with highs in the lower 90s. Tomorrow the humidity will stay on the lower side, so the heat index should feel very close to the air temperatures. Humidity will start to build on Monday as sunshine continues. Temperatures look to stay above average in the 90s for most of the work week with very minimal rain chances. Temperatures will cool down into the mid to upper 80s by the weekend.
