After an exhibition contest agains Division I Duke Friday night, the Northwest Missouri State men's basketball team was named the preseason No. 1 Tuesday morning.
The NABC released their first coaches poll Tuesday with Northwest receiving 15 of 16 first-place votes.

The Bearcats will look to repeat as national champions in 2018, but will do so without the likes of Zach Schneider and Anthony Woods due to graduation.
Northwest does return the Division II Player of the Year, Justin Pitts.
The Bearcats return to action Nov. 10 in St. Joseph against Upper Iowa.
