(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Central High School's head football coach, Andy Ball will be stepping down.
The announcement was made Tuesday morning by Central's principal Dr. Deborah Stephens and the Athletic Director David Lau.
Ball has been Central's coach since January 2017. He has accepted a job as the offensive coordinator for Missouri S&T in Rolla, Missouri.
In a statement sent out by the school, Stephens said "Our goal at Central is to recruit and hire quality individuals like Andy. We are sad to see a quality head coach like him leave CHS."
Lau added "Coach Ball's passion for the game is contagious. We appreciate his hard work with our student athletes and service to our football program. It's hard to lose good people. I know he will be a great offensive coordinator at Missouri S&T."
Ball's resignation will be effective March 1, 2018 and the search for his replacement will begin immediately.
