Chillicothe Hosts Holiday Expo

With Christmas right around the corner, shoppers are out looking for that perfect gift; and while most people are counting down the days until Christmas, the Grand River YMCA in Chillicothe,Missouri is trying to get shoppers in the holiday spirit. The YMCA hosted their first Christmas Craft and Vendor Expo, Saturday, December 9 from 9a.m. to 2p.m.

(CHILLICOTHE, Mo.) With Christmas right around the corner, shoppers are out looking for that perfect gift; and while most people are counting down the days until Christmas, the Grand River YMCA in Chillicothe,Missouri is trying to get shoppers in the holiday spirit.


The YMCA hosted their first Christmas Craft and Vendor Expo, Saturday, December 9 from 9a.m. to 2p.m.

Grand River YMCA Program Director Lacey Pate was excited to bring in crafters and vendors to provide unique gifts for shoppers in the community.

“There are a couple booths that have the decorative Christmas decor. But there is also every day type things,” Pate said “You name it, it’s probably here.”

The YMCA filled 45 booths with vendors and crafters offering a holiday goodies ranging from Christmas decor to leather work.

While shoppers were looking for the perfect gift, members of the Chillicothe Middle School Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) were looking to fill stomachs. Members served up a hot breakfast to raise money for their club to attend a leadership conference in March.

“We are selling breakfast casserole, muffins and juice and coffee,” Eighth grader Anaglina Evans said.“We are currently raising money for our leadership conference.”

The Grand River YMCA plans to host a second seasonal event in 2018. The YMCA will bring in over 60 vendors for their annual Home and Garden Expo in April.
