Crash on N. Belt Highway Sends 3 People to Hospital

The accident happened around 9:30 a.m. in front of the Northgate Shopping Center near Sherman Avenue.

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) A crash on the North Belt Highway sent three people to the hospital Thursday morning.


The accident happened around 9:30 a.m. in front of the Northgate Shopping Center near Sherman Avenue.

Police say a black Ford Focus was trying to make a left hand turn out of the shopping center onto the Belt Highway when it pulled out in front of a red Toyota heading northbound.

The collision caused extensive front end damage to both vehicles.

The three people suffered minor injuries.

Police say the driver of the Focus was ticketed for failing to yield to oncoming traffic.
