(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) The holidays have officially arrived at East Hills Shopping Center.

On Saturday, the mall held their fourth annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. The event had several celebrity guests, including musical performances by social media stars Brooklyn and Bailey and Ashlund Jade.

Of course, the most anticipated arrival of the night was Jolly Old St. Nicholas. Santa Claus came just in time to help light the tree and take pictures with several families.

Those who organized the event said they look forward to it each year.

"Every year it involves lots of great entertainment, lots of celebrities and autograph signing and all these types of things," David Sandy, Tree Lighting Ceremony host, said. "It all comes down to the lighting of the Christmas tree which officially kicks-off the holiday shopping season here at East Hills Shopping Center."

We enjoyed a very pleasant, dry, and sunny Saturday before the thunderstorms roll in Saturday night. Widespread thunderstorms will move into the area around 8pm Saturday night and will likely last until early Sunday morning. The rain will be moderate to heavy at times. Our biggest threats we are looking at are heavy rainfall, damaging winds, and hail. Wind gusts could reach up to 40-50 mph. A few scattered showers may linger through the morning on Sunday before clearing out. Temperatures will be cooler on Sunday with highs in the mid 50s. Temperatures will be on the cool side to start off next week with highs in the low 60s.
