Governor Greitens Orders Flags to Half-Staff to Honor Fallen Clinton Police Officer

In addition, Governor Greitens has ordered that the U.S. and Missouri flags at all state buildings in Henry County be flown at half-staff from March 13 to March 16.

According to a press releaser, Missouri Governor Eric Greitens has ordered that the American and Missouri flags at state buildings in all 114 counties be flown at half-staff on Monday, March 12 to honor Officer Christopher Ryan Morton of the Clinton Police Department.

Officer Morton, 30, died on March 6 in the line of duty. 

In addition, Governor Greitens has ordered that the U.S. and Missouri flags at all state buildings in Henry County be flown at half-staff from March 13 to March 16.

Governor Greitens will speak at Officer Morton's funeral service today.

It was a snowy and cold day across the area with 2-6 inches of snow found across northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas. Temperatures will fall into the teens and single digits overnight. Be very careful on the roads Sunday morning, slushy and wet roads will refreeze with the cold temperatures overnight. Sunshine returns on Sunday with temperatures staying right around average in the mid 30s. Dry conditions look to continue into next week. Temperatures will warm through Tuesday with highs back in the 40s before a cold front moves through mid week dropping temperatures back into the teens and 20s.
