Investigation Underway After House Fire

Police are investigating after a house fire on Highland Avenue in North St. Joseph.

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) A fire at a north St. Joseph home is now being investigated as a crime scene.

The St. Joseph Fire Department were called to a home in the 700 block of Highland Avenue around 7 p.m. after a neighbor reported smoke coming out of the back of the home.

A fire official confirmed there was a fire, but said once they put out the flames police investigators were called to the scene.

Authorities have not provided any more details about what was found inside the house.

The warmest days of the week will be Monday night into Tuesday with plenty of clouds overhead. A disturbance will move in Monday night and Tuesday that will bring the chance for some more rain and snow to the area. Right now, it appears any snow accumulation will be minor. We'll be in the upper 30s by Tuesday thanks to the southeast winds picking up. It will be gusty at times to 30 mph.
