Law enforcement agencies carry operation Monday night with multiple arrests

Monday night several area law enforcement agencies carried out a special operation that led to 64 traffic stops, and 18 arrests.

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Monday night several area law enforcement agencies carried out a special operation that led to 64 traffic stops, and 18 arrests.

40 St. Joseph police officers, the Buchanan County Drug Strike Force, Missouri State Highway Patrol as well as several other agencies teamed-up to target crime and ended up stopping several fleeing vehicles.

The arrests resulted in various charges including city and state warrants.

Multiple vehicles fled from officers during the operation, but helicopter support from the state patrol helped track those vehicles down.

Clouds will slowly build into the area late tonight as a cold front approaches the area. A few areas of sprinkles could develop overnight as the front approaches. The front will move through tomorrow morning into the afternoon bringing some slightly cooler temperatures. Most of tomorrow will be dry and sunny with highs in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Highs will be in the 60s throughout the rest of the work week with dry and sunny conditions. Rain chances will start to increase overnight Saturday into Sunday. Highs will be in the 70s to start next week.
