Man Threatening Suicide Dies After Officer-Involved Shooting

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a man threatening to kill himself exchanged shots with an officer.

(CAMERON, Mo.) The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating an officer-involved shooting that left one person dead.


Investigators said the shooting happened on at 913 East 3rd Street in Cameron Thursday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says officers were called out around 11:30 a.m. to check on a man threatening to kill himself.

Authorities say 39-year-old Clinton Shane Lee, of Cameron, opened fire when officers arrived.

An officer returned fire and Lee was killed.

The officer was not hurt.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating.

The warmest days of the week will be Monday night into Tuesday with plenty of clouds overhead. A disturbance will move in Monday night and Tuesday that will bring the chance for some more rain and snow to the area. Right now, it appears any snow accumulation will be minor. We'll be in the upper 30s by Tuesday thanks to the southeast winds picking up. It will be gusty at times to 30 mph.
