One arrested after Thursday night standoff

Police said they were attempting to locate a subject wanted on felony warrants.

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) One suspect with felony warrants was arrested late Thursday night following a 2 hour standoff with police. 

Authorities attempted to apprehend the suspect at a home in the 2000 block of N. 42nd St., when the suspect refused to cooperate a standoff ensued. 

Police said the suspect was not alone in the home, other occupants inside were able to safely escape. 

The suspect surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody shortly before 11p.m.

Most of today was sunny and dry with a few passing clouds. An isolated shower or two could develop late this afternoon in extreme northwest Missouri. Temperatures will continue to warm up on Wednesday with highs back in the upper 80s and lower 90s. Several rounds of showers and storms will return Thursday and Friday as a front moves through our area. A few storms could be on the stronger side or bring heavy rain. Temperatures will be back in the low to mid 80s for the weekend.
