Early Morning Fire Destroys Mobile Home

A fire that happened overnight Saturday left one mobile home completely destroyed.

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) A fire that happened early Sunday morning left one mobile home completely destroyed, and four others damaged.

The St. Joseph Fire Department said the fire happened in a trailer home located at Countryside Mobile Home Estates just after 1:30 a.m.

The home was vacant and no injuries were reported according to the Fire Department.  

Authorities said four homes surrounding the initial structure were also damaged. Three of those homes were vacant, the remaining one was occupied.

The Fire Department said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

We have had rain off and on this Saturday across northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri. Scattered showers will continue off and on through the evening and overnight hours but should start to clear up as we head towards the morning. Temperatures will slowly start to warm Sunday into Monday as sunshine returns and conditions start to dry out. Another cold front is headed our way Monday night and that will bring us a chance for rain and possibly some snow into Tuesday morning as the colder air surges into our area. Temperatures look to stay unseasonably cool through the rest of the next week.
