Platte Co. Sheriff Releases Names of Victims in Deadly Crash

The Platte County Sheriff's Office has released the names of two men who were killed in a crash over the weekend.

The Platte County Sheriff's Office has released the names of two men who were killed in a crash over the weekend.

According to a release from Sergeant Jeffrey Shanks, Joshua Lindsay and Andrew Davidson, both of Kansas City, Mo., died when their vehicle crashed on MO 45 Highway near Westside Drive on Saturday.

Authorities said Davidson was driving when he tried to pass a vehicle in the southbound lane of MO 45. His car collided with a Toyota Rav 4 driven by MaKayla Lowe, 18, of Atchison, Ks.

Lowe suffered non-life threatening injuries according to Sgt. Shanks.

A third vehicle was involved in the accident, however no one in that vehicle was hurt.

Sgt. Shanks said the Platte County Sheriff's Office Crash Team is still investigating the accident.
