(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) The Northwest Missouri Fraternal Order of Police got a huge boost.

American Family donated more than $15,000 to the FOP's 'Shop with a Cop' program.

Employees raised the money through a bake sale over the past several months.

The money will help buy presents for kids this Christmas.

"Several children from across northwest Missouri are going to have a great Christmas," said FOP Lodge 3 President Mike Hardin. "This by far is the greatest donation we've ever had and we're going to make a lot of kids happy."

American Family has been donating to the 'Shop with a Cop' program for the past five years.

"We love to support the community and bring the community together with our police officers because it's so important to build that bond," said American Family employee Christina Lytton.

Another beautiful day across northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri. A weak cold front has moved by and we will see some cooling across the area. Highs will cool down in to the 50s Wednesday and Thursday.
