We are waking up to some partly cloudy skies across northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas this Friday morning with temperatures in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees already. An unsettled weather pattern is setting up for the next week as we still have a few more rain and storm chances in the forecast. We do need the rain as we are now in a moderate to severe drought across the KQ2 Viewing Area.
A stalled out front to the north of us will be the focus for our showers and thunderstorms into the weekend. We expect to see a mix of sun and clouds during the day on Friday before out next round of showers will move in Friday evening into early Saturday. It will also be a summer hot weekend ahead with high temperatures staying above average in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Make sure you stay cool, keep the sunscreen handy and drink plenty of water if you have any outdoor activities.
We will see another round of showers late Saturday night into early Sunday then mostly sunny skies for your Sunday. We'll have better chances of showers & storms early next week, especially Monday into Tuesday. Highs will remain very warm in the lower 90s before we cool down into the middle 80s by Wednesday and Thursday.
