Thousands take part in Family Fun Day

Family Fun Day took place at Missouri Western State University on Saturday.

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Family Fun Day took place at Missouri Western State University on Saturday.

The event took place during the Kansas City Chiefs' training camp. The Family Center Farm & Home hosted an after party at their store at 1301 S Riverside road.

A kids' zone was set up with inflatables and a rock wall. Balloon animals were also made along with face painting.

Attendees got the chance to meet Chiefs Cheerleaders as well as get autographs from Chiefs players. 

There was an estimated 6,000 people in attendance at this year's event. 

The Kansas City Chiefs take on the Houston Texans in their first preseason game on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Snow is expected to continue overnight being most widespread before midnight. This system could bring a little bit of a wintry mix, mainly along Highway 36 and south. That is where snow may mix in with some sleet or freezing rain. Ice accumulations are possible towards Platte County and the KC metro.
