(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) A three vehicle crash had two westbound lanes of Mitchell Avenue closed Sunday afternoon.
The crash happened just after 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of Mitchell and Belt Highway.
Police said a Dodge Avenger was attempting to make a left-hand turn onto Mitchell when the vehicle was hit by a Jeep Cherokee traveling north on Belt Highway.
That impact caused both the Avenger and Cherokee to hit a third vehicle that was stopped at the stoplight going westbound on Mitchell.
Police said the driver of the Avenger was issued a citation for making a left-hand turn in front of another vehicle and failing to yield.
Police said seven people, including two children, were involved in the crash. However, no injuries were reported.
Police said everyone involved was wearing a safety belt.
