(PLATTE COUNTY, Mo.) Multiple injuries have been reported by authorities after a wrong-way accident on I-29 North, just north of Platte City.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop A, a tractor trailer was traveling on I-29 South when it crossed over the median just after 9 p.m. Wednesday evening. The trailer then struck a car heading north on I-29.

Authorities said the driver of the tractor trailer and the car were both transported to Mosaic Life Care with serious injuries.

Troopers said no other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Interstate 29 North is closed in that area, and traffic is being diverted to Missouri Highway 273. Troopers said they anticipate the northbound lanes being closed for at least another hour.

The accident is still under investigation by the Missouri State Highway patrol.
