(St.Joseph,MO) Three people are without a home after a fire in south St. Joseph Friday night. Shortly after 4:30pm firefighters responded to calls of a trailer fire in the 2700 block of Kathy Lane.

After arriving on scene firefighters found the back end of a trailer home, as well as a small shed completely engulfed in flames. Fire crews quickly exterminated the flames, but the home was a total loss. No injuries were reported, because no one was home at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is unknown, but homeowners suspect it could have spurred from a trash fire one of the homeowners burned earlier that afternoon.

The family is receiving assistance from the Red Cross and the fire is still being investigated by the St. Joseph Fire Department.
