Two Injured in Vehicle Accident

A two car accident on the corner of North 12th and Church Streets left two people with injuries late Monday evening.

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) A two car accident on the corner of North 12th and Church Streets left two people with injuries late Monday evening.

The accident happened just after 5 p.m.

Police said the vehicles collided, one traveling north on 12th Street and the other traveling east on Church Street.

Authorities said both drivers were transported from the scene by EMS, however the extent of their injuries was unknown.

Police said a child who they believe was 2-years-old was in one of the vehicles. That child did not suffer any injuries from the crash.

Authorities said citations are expected to be offered after further investigation.

We started out across the area with a few clouds around as a disturbance passed to the south of the area. Clouds slowly started to clear by the early afternoon hours. Today temperatures were still be above average, but cooler than yesterday with highs in the upper 50s. Temperatures will be back in the 60s this weekend under mostly sunny skies. Winds will be a bit breezy on Sunday with wind gusts up to 25 mph. Wind will remain fairly breezy through the beginning of next week especially on Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures will stay above average next week with rain chances increasing by mid week.
