(ST JOSEPH, Mo) Its that time of year again in St. Joseph.

"We always get so excited this time of year, the energy in St. Joseph is palatable." said Beth Conway, Communications Director at the St. Joseph Visitors Bureau.

Kansas City Chiefs fans have been flocking to St. Joseph to see their team prepare for another upcoming season.

"People are so excited that the Chiefs have decided to come back to St. Joseph every year we're now in our [9th] year, so it feels like they're our buddies." said Conway.

Every year, the fans come from all over.

"There's die hard chiefs fans all over the country so I've heard them from California, New York, everywhere." said Mary Baack-Garvey , Co-owner of Hi Ho Bar and Grill.
And they're doing more than just watching the practices.

"They kinda meander aroud St. Joe, and try to find local bars and different places to go and things to see." said Baack-Garvey.

For the St. Joseph Visitors Bureau, its a chance to showcase the city. We have lots of entertainment options we have great local dining establishments especially in the downtown area.

They want visitors to take this opportunity to explore the area.

"Be adventurous! Get out of campus and take a drive." said Conway.

Mark Anderson and his family have taken the drive,

"We started coming up because of Mahomes, both my daughters are from Texas Tech so we got a little bit of a personal interest in that." said Mark Anderson, a Chiefs fan traveling from Owasso, Oklahoma.
The Andersons have been coming up to St. Joseph from Oklahoma, they can't get enough of camp.

"Its addicting, it really is coming to camp." said Anderson.

They along with those who live here hope that addiction doesn't break.

"When you're up close and personal with your favorite football team and they're right here in your neighborhood, it's awesome." said Baack-Garvey.
