An incredible season for the Missouri Western volleyball team came to a tough end in the NCAA Central Region semifinals as the Griffs lost 3-1 to the defending national champions Concordia-St. Paul.

Missouri Western led the first set 21-19, but Concordia out-scored Western 6-2 to take a 1-0 lead. The Griffons led late in the second set, 22-20 and 23-22 before falling 25-22.

With their backs against the wall in set four, Missouri Western dominated 25-18 setting up a do-or-die set four.

In set four, Western owned a 10-6 lead but were unable to take to set or the match, falling 25-20.

Western went toe-to-toe with one of the nation's very best, but couldn't get over the hump.
