1994-2018

Cody Michael Harter, 23, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018.
He was born September 18, 1994 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Michael and Kerrie (Bezler) Harter.
Cody was a member of the Missouri Air National Guard for 6 years. He previously worked at Fed Ex and HyVee.
He was an avid motocross racer and enjoyed snowboarding, jet skiing, and online gaming. Cody owned and operated his own lawn care business, was a great musician, loved cats, and had the biggest heart. He loved to make people laugh. Cody saved 50 lives by being an organ donor.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Lois and Harry Payne, Phyllis and Marion Harter, Beverly and Norman Lawhon; uncles, Terry and J.R. Payne.
Survivors include parents; sister, Kylee Harter (Armando Trevino); fiancé, Shelby Berkemeier; maternal grandparents, Paul and Janie Marshall, Marshall and Lois Bezler; paternal grandparents, Terry and Linda Harter; aunt, Kristi Towell (Eric); uncles, Duane Marshall (Nikki), Brian Harter (Nancy), and Nathan Harter; great aunts, Judy Thomas (Bill), Vicki Stevenson (Tom), and Sandy Harter; great-uncles, Larry Payne (Barbara), Mike Lawhon (Mary), Jeff Lawhon (Mary), Paul Lawhon, John Harter (Sally); God mother, Jean Anne Rausin; future in-laws, Frank Berkemeier and Roxanne Shirk; numerous cousins, extended family and friends.
Farewell Services 10:00 A.M. Friday, Word Of Life Church. The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, Word Of Life Church. Today will be another comfortable and mild day with mostly sunny skies. Temperatures today will warm into the upper 60s and lower 70s. Clouds will start to increase across the area tonight into Friday morning. Rain chances will also start to increase tomorrow morning with the chance for scattered showers mainly through the morning and afternoon hours. The rain will be light on Friday with most areas seeing less than a quarter of an inch. Rain chances will continue this weekend as temperatures warm to around average in the low to mid 70s. Showers and a few thunderstorms will continue through the weekend however no severe weather is expected at this time. Rainfall could be moderate to heavy at times with most areas seeing around 2-3 inches of rain by Monday. Rain chances will continue into next week as temperatures remain around average.
