Cody Michael Harter

Cody Michael Harter, 23, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018.
He was born September 18, 1994 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Michael and Kerrie (Bezler) Harter.
Cody was a member of the Missouri Air National Guard for 6 years. He previously worked at Fed Ex and HyVee.
He was an avid motocross racer and enjoyed snowboarding, jet skiing, and online gaming. Cody owned and operated his own lawn care business, was a great musician, loved cats, and had the biggest heart. He loved to make people laugh. Cody saved 50 lives by being an organ donor.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Lois and Harry Payne, Phyllis and Marion Harter, Beverly and Norman Lawhon; uncles, Terry and J.R. Payne.
Survivors include parents; sister, Kylee Harter (Armando Trevino); fiancé, Shelby Berkemeier; maternal grandparents, Paul and Janie Marshall, Marshall and Lois Bezler; paternal grandparents, Terry and Linda Harter; aunt, Kristi Towell (Eric); uncles, Duane Marshall (Nikki), Brian Harter (Nancy), and Nathan Harter; great aunts, Judy Thomas (Bill), Vicki Stevenson (Tom), and Sandy Harter; great-uncles, Larry Payne (Barbara), Mike Lawhon (Mary), Jeff Lawhon (Mary), Paul Lawhon, John Harter (Sally); God mother, Jean Anne Rausin; future in-laws, Frank Berkemeier and Roxanne Shirk; numerous cousins, extended family and friends.
Farewell Services 10:00 A.M. Friday, Word Of Life Church. The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, Word Of Life Church. It will be a cold start to the work week, with cloudy skies and below average highs in the low-to-mid 50s for northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas. Tuesday and Wednesday a cold front will move in and give us a chance for rain and t-storms. As the warm front moves in and remains stationary it will spark rain/storm chances Wednesday through Thursday. Thursday will be the warmest day of the week with a high in the upper 70s. A cold front moves back in Friday returning highs to the low 50s for the weekend.
