Joyce Marie Frakes 81, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018 at her home with her family by her side.

Joyce Marie Frakes 81, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018 at her home with her family by her side. She was born October 23, 1936 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of the late Sylvia and Jesse Matthews. She married Robert "Bob" Frakes on October 23, 1954, and he survives of the home. She was a homemaker and devoted farm wife who enjoyed sewing, gardening, and spending time with her grandkids. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and a member of the Missouri Valley Baptist Church. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Jesse, Earl and Sammy Matthews, sisters; Velma Ritchie, Viola Kneib, and Mary Huffman. Survivors include, husband, Robert "Bob" Frakes of the home, daughters; Sandy (Mike) Pendleton, St. Joseph, MO, and Susan (Bill) Matney, Dearborn, MO, grandson; Dustin Pendleton, granddaughters; MaryAnn Matney, and Cami Pendleton, great-granddaughter, Paydyn Pendleton, a brother, Virgil (Dixie) Matthews, St. Joseph, MO, and a sister, Donna (Marvin) Huffman, St. Joseph, MO.
Funeral Services: 10:00 am Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Rupp Funeral Home, Pastor Andy Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Sugar Creek Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the Missouri Valley Baptist Chruch or Frakes Memorial Scholarship Fund.
