Lachelle Diane Sims 48, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, August 6, 2018 at Mosaic Life Care Hospital. She was born March 9, 1970 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of Elizabeth "Diane" and Charles "Joe" Sims. She graduated from Benton High School 1988 and attended school for Cosmetology. She worked as a server and waitress for most her life most recently at Primavera. She was a happy, bubbly fun loving person, who loved people, the ocean and hanging out at the Pond, but most especially she loved her grandchildren. While at Benton High School she was active in ROTC. Survivors include her parents, her devoted companion, Mike Hicks, St. Joseph, MO, son, Jared (Paige) Dewey, De Kalb, MO, daughter, Jacee Dewey,St. Joseph, foster son, Mason White, a brother Chuck Sims, St. Joseph, and 4 grandchildren, Ashlyn, Harper, Wyatt, and Emmatwo nieces Alison and Amanda Sims, and one nephew Joshua Sims.

Funeral services: 10:00 am, Friday, August 10, 2018 at Rupp Funeral Home, the family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Online condolence and obituary at www.ruppfuneral.com.

Mostly cloudy skies across much of northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas Tuesday which resulted in cold temperatures across the area. We saw some freezing rain to the south of St. Joseph Tuesday afternoon. The warmer air will start moving back into the area as we head into Wednesday afternoon with highs in the 50s. The rain chances will start to increase as we head into your Thursday and Thursday night.
