Melvin A. Judah
Melvin A. Judah, 93, St. Joseph, Missouri, formerly of Washington, D.C, and Houston, Texas, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at Living Community, St. Joseph.
He was born August 20, 1925, to Henry and Etta (Powell) Judah in St. Joseph. Melvin graduated from Savannah High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University. He served honorably as a 2nd Lieutenant with the U.S. Navy in World War II and the Korean Conflict. His service continued in the Naval Reserve.
He was an editor of Oil Pipeline Industry Magazine in Houston. Melvin later worked as the Director of Oil Pipeline Safety for the U.S. Federal Government Department of Transportation in Washington, D.C.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the V.F.W. Melvin had great respect for life, country, and family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife of 33 years, Eleanor Hannon; and brothers, Leslie, Powell, Weldon, and Byron.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.
