Griffons win thriller in OT against Lincoln, advance to MIAA semifinal

MWSU rallied from a 17-point deficit Wednesday night in the quarterfinals of the MIAA Tournament to defeat Lincoln in overtime, 84-76, inside the MWSU Fieldhouse.

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The third-seeded Missouri Western men's basketball team rallied from a 17-point deficit Wednesday night in the quarterfinals of the MIAA Tournament to defeat Lincoln in overtime, 84-76, inside the MWSU Fieldhouse.

With the win, the Griffons improve to 14-9 and advance to the semifinals on Friday as they'll play No. 2 seed Washburn at 7:30 p.m. inside Bearcat Arena. Northwest Missouri State will be the host of the semifinals and the championship of the MIAA Tournament.

Clouds will continue to move into the area tonight with a slight chance for an isolated shower. Tomorrow we will see a few scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms move through the area, mainly through the morning and afternoon hours. Temperatures will warm into the upper 60s and lower 70s. Rain chances are set to continue on Sunday with temperatures back in the 60s. Rain chances will linger into next week. The rain will be on the lighter side Monday into Tuesday. Ran showers will increase with the possibility for a few thunderstorms Wednesday into Thursday. Temperatures will continue warm into next week with highs in the mid to upper 70s.
