(LAWRENCE, Ks.) A train hauling coal derailed late Friday afternoon near Lawrence, Kansas.Â
Authorities said around 30 cargo cars detached from the engine and toppled causing significant damage to the rails and a crossing.
A large amount of coal spilled across the area.
There were no injuries reported.
A road at the derailment site has been closed as cleanup and the investigation continues.Â
