MSHP says two taken to Mosaic after truck ends up in creek

BUCHANAN COUNTY, Mo. (KQTV) — Two individuals in their 60’s were transported to Mosaic on Saturday morning after their truck glided off I-229.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop H report, a 2025 Dodge Ram driven by a 61-year-old man from Faucett was traveling northbound on I-229 when he attempted to stop from hitting an uninvolved commercial vehicle.

The truck then slid off the east side of the road around 8:10 am, went down a steep embankment, hit many trees, and then came to rest in a creek at the bottom of the embankment.

The driver was wearing a seatbelt and was transported to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph with serious injuries. His passenger, a 67-year-old man from St. Joseph, was not wearing a seatbelt and was transported to the same hospital with minor injuries.

MSHP Troop H was assisted by the Andrew County Sheriff’s Office, Andrew County Fire Department, and the Andrew County EMS.
