DEARBORN, Mo. (KQTV) -- The North Platte High School basketball teams hosted North Andrew at home Tuesday night in a KCI/GRC matchup. 

In the boys game, North Platte cruised to a 71-49 win. The Panthers overcame a shaky start in the first quarter and were able to pull away in the second half.

Senior Dylan Armstrong led North Platte with 20 points, 14 of those came in the first half. Senior Brendan Matt finished with 15 points for the Panthers, junior Brecken Cartwright had 12 and senior Hunter Palmer had 9 points.

For North Andrew, senior Mason Nester led the team with 16 points, followed by sophomore Noeth Cook with 10 and sophomore Levi McAfee with 9 points.

North Platte improves to 13-3 on the season and North Andrew falls to 9-6.

In the girls matchup, North Platte would be victorious as well over North Andrew, winning 46-27.

Senior Allyson Smith for North Platte led all scorers with 21 points, senior Kate Wolf added 10 points for the Lady Panthers as well. For North Andrew, sophomore Kyra Lassen led the team with 11 points and sophomore Megann Schildknecht had 8. 

North Platte girls get to double-digit wins on the season at 10-6, North Andrew drops to 4-12.

North Platte next hosts Mid-Buchanan on Friday, January 23rd at 6 and 7:30 pm. North Andrew plays at Albany on the 23rd at 6 and 7:30 pm.
