MoWest women’s hoops win while the men lose to Arkansas-Fort Smith

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- In a battle with conference foe University of Arkansas-Fort Smith this evening, the MoWest women's hoops team rang the bell, while the visiting Lions overtook the men.

In the first game, Griffon women's Basketball beat the Lions by a score of 80-60.

This was accomplished by a big night from Griffon Mia Morel, who scored 31 points against the Lions. Lindsay Kelderman was also in double digits with 15 points, Nakiya Harris with 11, and Jada Smith with 10.

The Griffon men's basketball team fell in the second game of the evening by a score of 98-87.

Despite the loss, Griffon Noah King led his team with 27 points. Also in double digits were Ty Henry with 22 points and Marko Pavlovic with 12.

MoWest women's hoops improve to 10-15, while the men fall to a 17-10 record. Both squads will stay on campus and face Northeastern State starting at 1:30 pm for Senior Day.
