Griffons enter MIAA Women’s Basketball Tournament as 7-seed

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) The MoWest women's basketball team holds the seventh seed in next week's MIAA Tournament.

In the opening round of the tournament, No. 7 Griffons will face No. 10 Nebraska-Kearney at 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4 at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo.

The Griffons lost to UNK back on Jan. 1, 86-74, but defeated the Lopers, 86-69, a few weeks later on Jan. 17.

MoWest defeated Newman, 94-88, Saturday afternoon in the regular season finale. MoWest finishes the regular season with a 13-15 overall record and 9-10 mark in the MIAA.

The Griffons have won five straight and seven of their last 10 games.
