Missouri Senate passes bill regulating drones

KMIZ

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KQTV) -- Missouri Senate passed Senate Bill 1424 which aims to regulate drones in certain locations across the state.

The legislation prohibits drones around 'sensitive locations' like correctional facilities and critical infrastructure. This would also prohibit activity for the drones around large public venues with ties to criminal activity.

This, however, wouldn't be the case for law enforcement in their ability to monitor drone threats.

The bill was unanimously passed and included an adoption of an emergency clause.

During so, the senate also heard testimony speaking to law enforcement agencies and businesses speaking on making sure the bill aligns with federal regulations.
