Tracking a warm Thursday with pm thunderstorms

Good morning and happy Thursday!

Temperatures are starting off in the upper 40s to low 50s this morning, with a few spotty showers possible early. Most of the day will stay on the dry side, though cloud cover will increase through the afternoon as storm chances begin to rise.

There is a Level 2 (slight) risk for severe weather across far northwestern Missouri and northeastern Kansas. The main threats will be hail and strong winds. Thunderstorms are expected to develop after sunset, continuing through the evening and into early Friday morning.

This system will bring cooler temperatures, with highs dropping into the low 60s by Friday. We’ll warm back into the 70s by Saturday and Sunday, though rain chances will persist through the weekend and into early next week.
