Willett stops in St. Joseph during Congressional campaign

ST. JOSEPH, Mo (KQTV) -- Current Kansas City, Missouri, city councilman Nathan Willett stopped in St. Joseph Sunday evening to talk to voters during his campaign for U.S. House, Missouri District 6 Primary Race.

'Dialogue with Willett' saw supporters and campaign workers filling the party room at the Hi-Ho Bar and Grill in St. Joseph to speak with Willett.

Willett was happy to see support from many different faces in the St. Joseph community Sunday night, noting support from well-known community leaders such as Bob Slater and Kristi Green.

"(This turnout means) a lot. It means that we have the momentum. We are the people's candidate in this race. We are not the consultant class candidate, and I think when it comes to elections on August 4th, the people are going to decide this race," Willett said. "They know our common sense conservative values. They know what we want. A proven conservative fighter for all 33 counties in Washington, and I am that candidate."

Maintaining a consistent community presence, even when elected, is a priority for Willett.

"Everyone should expect a good conservative vote in DC, but they also need to expect the congressman who will come back and serve the people and understand the needs of the institution," Willet shared. "I have a strong record of supporting first responders and defending the Constitution."
