Juvenile hit on bicycle after failing to yield to right of way

ATCHISON, Kan. (KQTV) -- The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that a juvenile was seriously injured on Friday after failing to yield at an intersection and being struck by a vehicle.

At about 5:00 pm on April 24, 12-year-old Elihah Eylar drove east on M Street in Atchison and failed to yield at the intersection with Hickory Street. Talia M Rawls, age 26, approached from Hickory Street and struck Eylar.

Eylar was taken to Amberwell Hospital with serious injuries. He was not wearing a helmet at the time.
