City to host 2026 rabies vaccination clinics

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- The City of St. Joseph announced it will be holding its 2026 rabies vaccinations clinics during the first two weeks of May.

During the clinics, pets are able to receive rabies vaccinations, combination vaccinations, and microchips.

Dogs and cats can be brought in for vaccinations, however dogs must be on a leash and cats should be in a carrier.

According to a news release, rabies vaccinations are $5, combination vaccines are $10 and must be paid in cash, and microchips cost $10.

Combinations vaccines for dogs include distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus and influenza. Combination vaccines for cats include protection against feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus and panleukopenia.

Vaccination clinic dates, times, and locations are:

  • Monday, May 4 at Lindbergh Elementary, 2812 St. Joseph Ave., from 6 to 8 pm
  • Tuesday, May 5 at Hosea Elementary, 6401 Gordon Ave., from 6 to 7:30 pm
  • Thursday, May 7 at Church of the Nazarene, 2102 S. 22nd St., from 6 to 8 pm
  • Tuesday, May 12 at Skaith Elementary, 4701 Schoolside Lane, from 6 to 7:30 pm
  • Thursday, May 14 at Mark Twain Early Learning Center, 705 S. 31st St., from 6 to 8 pm

Cash, check and cards are accepted for everything except combination vaccines.
