Boil advisory lifted in northeast St. Joseph

UPDATE 4:53 p.m. on 4/28 -- A boil advisory for northeast St. Joseph has been lifted as of Tuesday evening.

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- Missouri American Water has issued a boil advisory for northeast St. Joseph after a power outage following Sunday night storm.

The advisory is expected to be in effect for approximately 48 hours. Residents should boil all water used for drinking or cooking for at least three minutes.

Water used for bathing, washing and other nonconsumptive purposes is safe. Residents will be notified if additional action is needed, conditions change, or normal water use can resume.
